Experience Overview:
After several years as an associate in different law firms specialized in commercial litigation,
labor law and torts, Mr. González established González López & López Adames where he has
been working intensely since 1992 as a litigator in a variety of different areas of the law
including commercial, labor law, financial, torts and administrative litigation.
In several periods during his professional career, Mr. González has served as the main
outside counsel or officer examiner for several public agencies, governmental entities, public
corporations, and municipalities. Also, for many years Mr. González was appointed by the
Supreme Court of Puerto Rico to draft questions for the bar examination and review and grade
answers of the bar examination administered by the Board of Examiners for the Law Profession.
As such, he prepared and corrected bar examination questions in constitutional, tort, evidence,
civil procedure, administrative and notary law.
As the sports lover he is, Mr. González has acted for more than two decades as
associate judge of the Appellate and Sports Arbitration Court of the Olympic Committee of
Puerto Rico (TAAD by its Spanish acronym). He also served as a member of the Appellate
Commission of the Puerto Rico Basketball Federation. In 2014, he became the Vice-President
of the Puerto Rico Football Federation (FPF), a position he occupied until 2018. During that
period he served as President of the National Teams Commission and President of the
Medicine Commission among others.
Mr. González has contributed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico
Down Syndrome Foundation and in the past he has offered legal services ex-officio to parents
of children with severe cognitive problems and special educational needs.
Published Works:
As a student in law school he was a member of the law review and as such published as co-author an article titled ‘El Síndrome de Inmunodeficiencia Adquirida Contagia el Mundo de las Relaciones Obrero Patronales’. Also the editorial house of the University of Puerto Rico published a version of this article in the book titled, El Sida en Puerto Rico: Acercamientos Multidisciplinarios, Editorial de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, 1991. Finally the judicial system law review named ‘Forum’ published another article co-authored by Attorney González titled “La Ley Número 2 y las Reclamaciones de Daños y Perjuicios: El Uso y Abuso de un Derecho no Concedido,” 7:1 Forum 29, 1991.
